A 3D scanner is used for custom orthotics to capture an image of the foot. It is accurate to 0.01 of a millimetre. The orthotic prescription is completed by the podiatrist who will then tailor the orthotic to meet the specific needs of the client. The process is extremely fast and convenient without the mess that is associated with plaster casting.
